Schema Markup Generator

This schema markup generator writes JSON-LD structured data for a local business, an FAQ page or an article. Fill in the fields, copy the code into your page, and search engines and AI assistants get clear, machine-readable facts about your business and content.

How to use the Schema Markup Generator

  1. 1Choose the schema type: Local Business, FAQ Page or Article.
  2. 2Fill in the fields. Empty fields are left out of the code automatically.
  3. 3Copy or download the JSON-LD and paste it into the page it describes.
  4. 4Test the page with Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator.

What schema markup does

Schema markup is a shared vocabulary from schema.org that describes things on a page: a business with its address and hours, a question and its answer, an article with its author and date. JSON-LD is the format Google recommends, a small script block that sits in the page without changing what visitors see.

Structured data helps search engines understand a page with confidence, and it can make the page eligible for rich results such as business details, article information and other enhanced listings. AI assistants and answer engines also read it when they summarize businesses and pages, which makes it part of AI search visibility.

Local business schema for local SEO

For a business that serves customers in a place, LocalBusiness markup confirms the name, address, phone number, hours and website. Choose the most specific type that fits, such as LegalService, Dentist or HomeAndConstructionBusiness, and keep every detail identical to your Google Business Profile and the contact details on your site.

Add your social and directory profiles in the sameAs field. Those links help connect your website with the same business elsewhere on the web.

Rules that keep markup trustworthy

Only mark up what visitors can see on the page. FAQ answers should match the visible text, review ratings must come from real reviews shown on the page, and article dates should match what readers see. Markup that describes hidden or misleading content can be ignored or lead to a manual action.

Google now shows FAQ rich results mainly for well-known government and health sites, but FAQPage markup is still valid, and it still helps search engines and AI assistants understand the questions your page answers.

Questions? Answers.

Where do I put JSON-LD on my page?

Anywhere in the HTML, usually in the head or just before the closing body tag. On WordPress you can use a code snippet plugin or your SEO plugin's custom schema option.

Will schema markup improve my rankings?

Structured data is not a direct ranking factor, but it can make your listing eligible for rich results that stand out and helps search engines and AI tools understand your business correctly.

Can I use more than one schema type on a page?

Yes. A page can carry several JSON-LD blocks, for example LocalBusiness on the home page plus FAQPage on the same page if it shows questions and answers.

How do I test my schema?

Paste the page URL or the code into Google's Rich Results Test to see which rich results it qualifies for, and into validator.schema.org to check the markup against the full vocabulary.
